Of Interest: The Economic Espionage Act was strengthened in 2012. The purpose of this act is to protect intellectual property in the little known area of Trade Secrets.

Mike McCollum, Esq., recently published an article that was linked to by the American Intellectual Property Law Association.  This article goes over two 2012 amendments to the Economic Espionage Act (EEA), Trade Secrets Clarification Act and Foreign and Economic Espionage Penalty Enhancement Act.  These amendments expands coverage to include services, not just products, and increases the penalties that may be imposed on a violator.  You can read the article by clicking here.

Trade Secrets is one of the four areas of Intellectual Property Law.
